Shaping the pond

After having digged the pond it is time for the fine tuning:

  • The top of the pond must be level all round and can be checked with a long wooden plank and a spirit level. The edges should be levelled where necessary.
  • The finished hole, both sides and base, should be smooth with no protruding roots or sharp stones.
  • Line the hole with a 5 cm (minimum) layer of sand to protect the pond liner and, in addition, we recommend the use of a pond fleece underlay. The fleece should be evenly layered and each layer should overlap the one beneath.
