Pond construction step 4/7:

Fitting the pond liner

On a not too cold day you can begin the fitting of the pond liner.

  • Unfold the pond liner on the grass and then carefully place the liner in the hole – the more help you have the easier it will be. If you have to stand in the pond area, we suggest you do this with bare feet to avoid damaging the liner.
  • Shape the liner to the hole – small folds can be easily hidden with pebbles. An overflow is highly recommended: An elbow and hose leading to a drainage system or a small pit filled with pebbles should prevent your pond overflowing - even in heavy rain.
